Confessions of a binge scrapper...

Confessions of a binge scrapper...

So here go the confessions:
  1. I'm a chronological scrapper and I just finished the last of 2018 photos
  2. I tried to pre pair photos and papers in mini kits so when I have time I can scrap like a mad women
  3. I don't have time to scrap, but I found an awesome quote/ reminder when I was going through photos to print. "You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it- Charles Buxton"
  4. 2019 photos are ready to pick up, so I can build mini kits for the next retreat.
  5. I have to save a date away from home to make real progress.  We all know the lure of housework when scrapping at home or the time-suck of Facebook and Pinterest.
So there you have it my confessions

I really struggled with the layout of this one as I was trying to use some of the floral stickers from this CM paper pack.  Ended up flipping the base card stock and redoing the whole thing.

I love the bright colors of Jillibean soup Rainbow Roux and paired it with the current sketch over at Scrap our stash.  The cartoon inspiration is kind of there with the smurf blue and rainbow colors, but I didn't follow the holiday theme or use gold and a bow. Got to take inspiration when it strikes as I've been floundering when it comes to original layouts.

Christmas 2018

I'm starting out December by breaking into my new Christmas collection from Creative Memories
using Festive Plaid and Merry Little Christmas designer papers along with ML embellishments

TSR Nov Jump Start

Okay so it's the last day of November and I'm just getting around to doing the monthly
No photo description available.

I used the base rectangles similar to the sketch but opted for fussy cut flower bunch instead of the circle and I made banners with the branding strips in place of the arrow.
Also went with two photos from my Girl Scout small craft ( canoe/ kayak) weekend.

Jessica's permit

Watch out Oregon I have another permitted driver.  Granted she hasn't been driving since she fractured and dislocated her ankle in July, but she's out of her boot and cleared to start again

Using up some older paper and broke out the embroidery floss too.
the layout is based on a sketch I have hoarded in my idea book for a while and have no idea who created it.

Girl Scout leader scrapbook night

I'm getting prepared for an evening of scrapbooking with my fellow Girl Scout leaders.  Our service unit has a storage shed filled with all sorts of crafting goodies, games and outdoor gear.  I was able to find some cast off scrapbook supplies to put together a Christmas colored kit and a Fall colored sketched based kit for the ladies to work on.

The kit is based on cuts from the July Freaky Fast challenge at The Scrap Room

No photo description available.

and here's a sampling of the different papers used to create the kits along with some gemstones that will be available as well as the red glitter shapes below

For the second kit, I've gone with scrap our stash sketch

Threw this together as a sample of what the finished product could look like

all of this except for the bottle of flowers and the narrow green floral are from the SU supplies

So make sure to RSVP on the Facebook invite

CM virtual crop #2

I only managed to get 2 of the 6 sketches of the crop done but that's better than nothing

Creative-Memories-October-Virtual-Crop-Sketch-Layout2

I deviated from the sketch a bit by using larger photos and one less

I love that I was able to mix and match collections to create this layout I used 2018 NSD paper, mix and match yellow and embellishments from Croptoberfest

Creative memories Virtual crop#1

Yeah, I got to play so more in my craft room.  I managed to get another layout squeezed in before heading out for a Girl Scout train the trainer training.

Here's the sketch I used

I didn't use CM product so I wasn't eligible for the prize but I do like how it turned out.

Leader in Action- using National Scrapbook Day Project recipe

I just finished the National Scrapbook Day Project recipe from this past May. It has been sitting blank waiting for photos until this past weekend.  I thought the colors and outdoorsy feel went well with the photos of my daughter leading a troop from Oregon City through the Brownie Hiker badge so they could complete their outdoor journey and Danielle could earn her Leader in action award as part of her program aide award.  The Girls hiked around the Salmon stream watch at Wildwood recreation site.  Along the hike, Danielle taught leave no trace principles, knot tying, trail signs, 10 essentials and played outdoor bingo

JO- Road trip

No sketch to follow.  Just throw this one together.  I like that I preplanned papers and photos prior to going to Croptoberfest that way I could limit the amount of stuff I drag to the crop and it saves time at the crop since I'm not hunting for paper in my stash.  Did add and mix a few leftover embellishments from different kits to come up with the finishing touches, but it all looks great together.

Junior Olympics Bend, Or exploration

I rotated this creative memories sketch this past weekend at croptoberfest.
I believe it's from the summer (Citrus Shine layout) but was in the paper sketch idea booklet I received for the weekend.
CitrusSummer_Layout3_Sketch (2)

I'm not ashamed to use good sketches and tweak them.  Also to use product that isn't even from CM when doing one of their sketches.  I'll take whatever creative boost I can get since I don't get a lot of layouts done normally.  Silly busy life keeps getting in the way.  I have to have a set date away from home without distractions to get things done.

Master builder

Croptoberfest creation using a mixture of paper lines and embellishments.
I'm trying to knock off a few of my almost empty kits to make room for my new ones.  Love how all the bits and pieces came together

Ultimook

Most of my photos are Ultimook FaceBook downloads as I wasn't there and the kids didn't use their phones that much

Layout design credit to CM consultant Pam Winn

I did a bit of fussy cutting for all the word flair from the We are memory keepers high five Collection

Lake Oswego with sketch from Stick it down

Another two page layout from this weekends crop loosely based on October the

Instead of creating a foundation with tags I grouped the photos together and matted them.  I'm undecided on a title but left space for one either on the green mat or space above.  Depends on what I go with: Lake Oswego Adventure, Hanging in LO or Adventures with Crystal.
Thought I'd share now before I run out of time at Stick it down.  Maybe someone can help me decide which way to go with the title.

Scrap our stash inspire layout- Ulitmook road trip

As promised I'm back again with another layout using the pick a side challenge, however this time I didn't pick a side I created a 2-page spread to document a side trip on the way to ultimook run camp.

Actually, it wasn't a side trip as we were almost 175 miles east of our destination.
My daughter Danielle needed to do some pre-planning for a Girl Scout Journey she was leading after her return from run camp.  Made the trip up the base of Mt.hood from JC.  Spent the day in the park then overnight in a hotel in Portland before driving to Tillamook.

close up of the left side got the tag and twine the challenge
(Wildwood recreation site and Salmon stream watch)

close up of the left side just a tab on this side. So, I kind of followed the challenge again and got to document the road trip.
(Hydrangea Ranch and My Petite Sweet, Lincoln City and Josephine Young Memorial Park)

Pre's rock

Hey all I'm back again with another layout I created while at Croptoberfest

For this next layout, I used the pick your side challenge at Scrap our Stash

I'm almost done using up the last of my CM color vibe paper pack.  I chose it because the remaining elements fit the color scheme and story so well.
This is my youngest runner daughter at the memorial for Steven "Pre" Prefontaine
We had just finished a hill workout with RunHub Run school in Hendrix park so I thought I'd swing her by the rock.

I went with the left side of the challenge and included the pink tag and newsprint tab along with the twine hand-stitched in a zig-zag.

I enjoyed this sketch so much that I'll be back with a 2-page spread

Ben's 50th with TSR October Jump Start

The one thing I love about Fall is that my amazing friend hosts a CM croptoberfest and this year I was lucky enough to have a partial weekend free.  Friday evening to Saturday late night.

I used the following sketch from The Scraproom for the October jump start

and here's my take

I changed the location of the title and journaling but otherwise stayed true to the sketch

I also am sharing this layout over at lasting memories as I used camera icon paper.  It's been a while since I've played along over there.

I'll be back with more to share later today and throughout the weekend

Senior photo

I've momentarily switched albums so that I can get the storage drawers empty and ready to start collecting this school years items.  I'm a bit behind on my oldest as she graduated in June 2018.  I only have two pages to do.  The Senior photo which I'm sharing and cutting a title for the graduation ceremony so it's so close to being done.  I was hoping to have it finished before I leave to pick her up from Job corp this evening but that hasn't happened.  In the meantime enjoy this simple yet finished page.

I did add "Senior 2017-2018" to the bottom righthand corner after taking the photo to post

June and July 2018

I'm just about caught up with layouts to share.
These are the last 2 two page layouts that I finished at Celebrate Portland

This layout came together quickly as it was the project recipe for NSD back in May.
I had it already assembled minus photos.  Originally I thought I would go with the school colors for my daughter's cap and gown photos, but the field background really lent itself to the layout.

close up of each page

This layout is also from a project recipe.  I altered it a bit so that the mats would stand out by double matting.  Also inked edges and used rhinestones.

Now to get cracking on some more layouts.  Working on the kids' albums from this past school year so that I can have space in the drawer system I use to collect items from the year.  For the most part, stuff is on pages now to go back and create a few layouts.
