Glitter and Glam Christmas

Hello and welcome to my Glitter and Glam Christmas.  Can you believe November is almost over and it's just a few weeks till Christmas.  I'm starting to feel the time crunch with more and more on the schedule so I'm combining my DT assignments this week into one.

First up is Lasting Memories where we are doing a best of 2016 recap of our favorite and most popular challenges from this year starting with Glitter and Glam.
Here's a link to the original challenge to give you some more ideas
 and over at
Use your stuff we are asking you to create a scrapbook or card with a Christmas theme.

I'm also using this rotated sketch #117 from Scrap and Sketch

I think I might have go overboard on the glitter, as I had a bunch of sequence that got bunch up on the plastic sheet in my binder.  Instead of smoothing out the mess I just kept piling it on.  I also threw in some glittery foam stars from a pack I bought back in June for some girl scout swaps for camp.  The blue glitter gems are from the dollar bin at Michael's, but the silver tape I have no idea of when or where it came from.  The paper is older stash as well as the stickers too.

Lasting memories- shapes

I'm finally able to jump back in with a reveal this weekend.  I've got a bit behind on my DT commitments, but am catching back up with this fun layout.

The  challenges over at lasting memories  for November have been all about shapes.
The first one for the month was squares ( see my inspiration here), followed by circles and triangles.

For this week at Lasting Memories you get to choice a shape-hexagon, oval, clouds, ect.
 I'm showcasing hexagons.

I got this fun paper in my September Pink Paisley Take me away kit from TSR.
I knew right away that I wanted to cut around some of the hexagons to get this funky stripe down the middle.  I also used the paper that looked like watercolors as the Brownies were working on painting pottery for the pottery badge.  I even added the wood veneer hexagon  from the kit.  Kind of looks like it's half glazed just like their pieces.

Thanks for being patient with me and don't forget you still have time to enter any and all of the November challenges.

I did a two page spread using up some more left overs from another TSR kit

here's my take on the challenge

harvest gold paper and Indigo

Thanks for taking a peak

Retreat part 3

This is the final set of layout from the retreat I attended.
Saved them for last as they are not girl scout layouts.

This layout may look familiar as I did the Cm recipe for this one.
I used papers from 3 different  CM collections, but they all blend so well

This one I did with the CM die cut sheet, gold pen, stencils and a 12x4 piece of paper

Sketches in Thyme #248

I'm on a roll.  Got another layout done using the sketch at SIT as inspiration
and here's the sketch

Pretty close minus the top banner and placed a little lower on the page

I used the same base for the second page but had 4 photos of the bridging so switched it up a bit

November jumpstart at TSR

So here's one of the layouts I got done on retreat using the jumpstart at TSR

I stuck somewhat with the sketch and set my photos on angle, but I left out the tag as I wanted more of the wood paper mat to stick out from behind the photos as it helps carry the wood working theme.  The layout is of a few of my cadettes repairing and replacing portions of the picnic tables at the Irving Grange

I also played along with the TSR facebook challenge for whip it up Wednesday,
which was to use a frame

I  used up the last bits and scraps of  My Mind eye on trend 2 and pink Paislee Fancy free.
Wood veneer frame is from MME.  I love how the two kits mix and match so well

Retreat layouts part 2

Okay so here are a few more of the layouts I got done at retreat, sorry for the delay in posting.  I've been a bit busy getting caught up and doing laundry by hand in the sink.  The washer up and died 3hrs after we placed our order for the replacement.  The 26th can't get here fast enough.
Anyway for some fun distraction and to give me a break from washing here they are

I have a few more to post soon

Use your Stuff #241 Grid layout

Khristina is hosting this weeks challenge at Use your Stuff.  She is sharing  one of her favorite go-to design elements is using a grid layout! There are so many different ways to use grids in your projects and they can be adapted to work with cards, layouts, home décor. This week, The  challenging is to create with a grid. You can choose any size you like with any type of project. Look for project ideas using grid layouts check out Khristina's  process videos on  her You Tube channel

And here's my take on the challenge

Come show us how you Use Grids at Use your Stuff

I'm also playing along with Lasting Memories shape challenge to use Squares

Retreat layouts part 1

Hello all time for me to share some of the photos I got scrapped this past weekend at Camp Cascade retreat center.

I tried something new with this layout, as my hostess for the weekend was demonstrating the new Creative memories recipe cards.  It's Kind of like a sketch but more just pre measured cuts of two sided paper to create the base layouts to get the most out of your paper.  Below are close ups of the page and the 2 page spread is a bit dark.  the fun thing is I use a kit from my monthly subscription to TSR instead of the CM papers.

I already posted this layout for the It's Fall Y'all challenge at Use your stuff so head on over there to check out all the other inspiration

This one is one of my biggest achievements as I finally used the overlay that has been living in my stash for years.  The hardest part is figuring out how to attach the overlay to the paper without showing adhesive.  I went with staples to give it more of a cosmic look and wrote straight on to the photos so as not to cover up any of the overlay.

Another stash item.  templates I used the flower petals for the layout above and a grid template for the layout below.  Made it worth dragging around and keeping my templates.  Going to pull them out more in the future.

Another one of the CM recipes but I flipped the orientation on its side to work for my photos.  Kind of blew away the other ladies who where struggling with the whole cut to measure concept.  So fun to just blindly cut the patterned paper and throw it down.  Less then 10minute layout.

Another stash buster.  All the elements where from a GS journal and gift set that was given to me by a former scout.

I have more photos in a different album to take pictures of but I was done fighting with the kitten walking through the photo shot and knocking over the propped up pages.  So till next post this is it.
Hope you enjoyed my share
