Inspired by a book

This week the challenge is by the book.
Use a quote, authors or story lines from your favorite book

For this weeks challenge I had some heavy lifting to do before I could get started because my favorite little book has lived on the corner of my craft desk and some how it got knocked behind.

My girlfriend in high school gave me this great little book back in 1991
and I used the title as the journaling on my layout.

this layout is based the scrappiest sketch #154
This photo is of the neighbor girl and my two daughters on the way to school.
They have a love / hate relationship most of the time.
Kind of like me and the paper I have.  I've decided that I'm not going to buy anything new for crafting this year.  Except for neutral base card stock and adhesive as needed.  I really have a ton of paper, sticker and stuff that I really need to make a dent in.  I made a pledge to a fellow scrap friend that I would go on this journey with her so we can keep each other accountable

How ever I'm not off to a good start as I ordered some paper online from Creative Memories (exclusive club member item for the month of January) but that was before I made the pledge.  So to get on track  I pulled out these super old instant replay papers and stickers from CM.

Hope you've been inspired to join us this week
We are also  looking for a January guest designer.  If you'd like a chance just add GDT after your name when you link it up.

  1. OMG I love that saying! Works great with that pic, even if it is a love/hate relationship! And I totally made the same pact with myself for this year. After organizing and reorganizing (mainly because I have Organizational OCD and have to) I realized just how much stuff I have! NO MORE! Not buying a thing!

  3. Aww Haven, these pics are so cute!
It's great that the girls have a good friendship (well, most of the time.. lol)
And best of luck with your "no new paper pledge" for this year.. I know I wouldn't be able to stick to it, so I'm sending you STAY STRONG and RESIST thoughts!! :)

  4. Oh Haven I have told myself the same thing about paper. I probably have enough to last a lifetime! I used to teach the same age as the girls and you are so right-constant love/hate relationships at that age.
    Beautiful page-love the color combos.

  5. OMG... so I don't really do resolutions.. but told myself that I was going to "Try" to not buy new paper. Ugh! So hard Especially since I have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator as my next door neighbor. Super cute page. Love the papers! I really think some of our old stuff is better than our new stuff. There is a reason we bought it in the first place. :)
