Cm March virtual crop

I'm almost done with scout photos for 2024.  Just have December to do and then on to the next two years before my son has his Eagle receptions.  These last few weeks have been consumed with helping with his project.  Glad that it is almost complete.

I used #CMVirtualcrop2March2026 for the Trunk or treat event that his troop hosted with the Irving Grange

I used really old CM paper that was 8x8, so I did some piecing together to make it work

 

CM crop 3 January

 I'm back with another CM virtual crop sketch from January.

I'm working my way through this year's online sketches.  In the past, I have not played along faithfully, as most of the layouts didn't suit my style. However, I've changed my attitude and outlook on sketches, using them as a starting point and inspiration.  Sometimes I stay true to the sketches, other times not so much.

For this sketch, I didn't use any slanted photo placement and actually replaced journal spots with photos.  I might go back and add journaling to the right-hand side, but for now, it's done.

 

CM Crop 2 and LM #786

February is almost over, and I'm still plugging my way through the January virtual crop photos.

Oh well, I'm happy to have another one done and in the album.

I added an additional photo, moved the journaling, and changed the cluster locations, but the foundational base is still discernible. That's what I love about using sketches.  I also like to incorporate other challenges as well.  This time, I chose to use word stickers for Lasting Memories #786 

 

Creative memoires virtual crop January

 

I'm finally back in my craft space, thanks to the long weekend and the end of swim season.  I'm playing catch-up with the CM virtual crop sketches.  I rotated the sketch to align with my photo orientation and took liberties with the placement of the embellishment cluster, as well as added journaling.

Lasting memories focus this month: the power of words.  I chose to use more than 50+ words on my layout for challenge #785

New Year goal and LM #779

I won a 101 CM scrapbooking ideas and sketches book, and have decided to start using it to create layouts and track the sketches I've used so far.  I am writing the date completed and the title or date of the subject, as I was dog-earing pages and am uncertain that  I completed the sketch or marked it to use later.  I did flip through my most current chronological albums to compare, but not my scout or school album, thus the new tracking system.  I'm excited to see how far I get.

Aside from the sketch, I'm also using up some of my stash for Lasting Memories' current challenge, which is  LM #779 - Create a layout using a favorite challenge from 2025 or a challenge you wanted to play along with but missed the deadline.

Bald hill

It’s that time of year again when I think I’ll get more scrapping done because it’s cold and rainy but it hasn’t been.  Instead I have been working outside almost everyday this week.  Oh well at least I got this layout done.  

I used the December sketch by Rochelle as my starting point.  I rotated it 90 degrees.  I tried placing my photos like the sketch but something about the lines in the plaid made it look weird.  I also added a circular photo of my daughter and I in place of the circle element.  

Since I have a photo of me on here I’m also going to join the anything goes challenge at Challenge yourself.

Summerween

This is the second time Jessica missed Halloween, this time due to the Job Corps.  To make up for missing the spooky season, my daughter and her friends had a summerween party where they carved watermelons, ate candy, and did other Halloweenish things.

I went with one less photo as I used a larger photo on the left side.

I did the diagonal- top left to bottom right with orange ink splatters, tag, and torn edges.

October layouts

 I meant to get these posted in October but I just ran out of time.  Last district cross country meet is done, farm/ garden winter prep is under way.  Tomato sauce is in the works from the last of the season fruit.   I do have plans to scrap over the long weekend coming up but will see if that happens as I have stitches in my thumb.  Dominant hand

One and done

 I’m using Meggan Jacks one and done layout guide from 3-13-2025.  I rotated the left hand side of the sketch to accommodate my photo orientation.

I just got “Hit the Road” designer paper and stickers at the scrapbook retreat I’m attending this weekend.

I did  some journaling on both the pages chronicling or trip from Boulder to Boise.

The image on the mood board reminds me of me of herbs in an apothecary, so I used the image along with the color scheme to select my paper for my layout of Kam Wah Chung.

I went with sandy yellow, lime green, and aqua for my layout and leaned into the tropical flair with fussy-cut flowers.

I was inspired by the pagemaps sketch from last month's Challenge Yourself

My photo orientation didn’t lend itself to two 3x5 photos, so I went with two smaller photos stacked to fill the space.

LM #771 - color palette inspiration

The red is more tomatoey than berry but I think the midnight blue, petal and pearl are spot on.

I also was inspired by the scrap rooms jump start sketch for the month 

I used a decorative tag instead of of a fourth photo and moved the title up a bit.

I went with the leafy green, light blue, and rusty orange

This week, use plaid-patterned paper

I only used small hints of plaid along the edge of each side of my layout.

I have very little of the paper left, but it was the perfect amount to make this layout pop with a bit of color.

This week, use floral-patterned paper

I struggle to use floral paper, especially when the pattern is a large print like the paper I used.

I fussy cut around each of the flowers and layered them along the side of my layout to mimic the flower wall at the entrance to Silverwood theme park

I almost forgot to take a photo of the paper before I started hacking on it.

 This is the companion page to my floral page that can be found here.

For this page, I used a large flower to carry the theme across the layout while featuring the stripes with fewer photos.  The awesome thing about stripes is that it is a great place to do journaling.
