This weeks challenge at lasting memories is all about seasons of change. It can be seasons in your life such as becoming a mother, getting married graduating from college or it can be quit literally the changing of the season (weather). That's the direction I took with this challenge because the weather this year has been rather freaky as far as weather goes. It may not be that much of a stretch for those of you that are still having some cooler weather, but for those of us in the Pacific northwest to see snow after the 1st weekend of spring is rather rare. We're more likely to have heavy rain and maybe hail then snow.
So I thought what better way to document the not changing of the season from winter to spring then with pictures of our hiking patrol out in the snow.
Here's the group starting off on the trail all bundled up for a mid 40 degree morning. As you can see they got plenty warm hiking and stripped down to just tee's for a while.
These Are from the top and you can see the snow clouds coming in. Usually there is a rather panoramic view of the city from up here.
I went with flowers because it's supposed to be spring but did them in icy blue to mimic the cool feeling of the photos
group shots during lunch just before the snow flurries
Hiking back down in the snow on the first weekend of spring.
Again I added the butterflies for the spring feel but kept it in cool colors. The were attached together as one big embellishment, but I cut it apart. Think it works
I used sketch # 13 form let's capture our memories for 3 of the 4 layouts as the photo orientation lent themselves to the sketch rather nicely
Hope to see your season changing creations this week at lasting memories
Awesome LOs! I remember the PNW and the crazy weather we would have :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the flowers to show the collision of spring and winter, very clever! Love the bling too. TFS!
