Valentine’s card

Thought I’d give card making a go and use a kit I wouldn’t normally use.  To be honest I had it in my donation pile.
Front is done now to build a base

Crop prep

I’m starting to prepare for my upcoming crop at the end of February.  I’ve spread all of my non CM kits on the scrap room floor so that I can pair papers with photos.  Easier to see what I have this way.

And here are a few of the completed kits.  I’ve been inserting post it notes with dates and information with the photos.
Makes it easier for me to keep the the photos in chronological order.

One step closer to being read.  All of my 2020 photos paired with paper kits.  Now to pack the tools, extra embellishments and mixed media supplies.

CM “Love each other”

I created another layout with what I have left from the “ love each other” collection

These two pages document my time at school from March to June 2020
My title is a photo of the sticker I currently have on my water bottle.  All the staff that worked the first part of the COVID shutdown we’re gifted one.

Late start creating

We had a late start for school today due to icy roads, so I got busy crafting.  I used carta bella “ family night”.  I still have enough paper and stickers for one more layout in the future.

Early Pandemic road trip

Danielle and I made a quick early pandemic road trip to SanFrancisco to pick up Ashley from Treasure Island Job Corp center.  We left just after I got off work and had an overnight stop in Redding with my Brother in law and his wife before making the rest of the trip to San Fran.

My highschool friend Sandra lives just outside of San Francisco and hosted Ashley overnight so that I wouldn't have to drive all the way in.  The photos on the layout are from some of our stops.  Grants pass at sunset and Canyonville just an hour earlier, followed by Vallejo and Sandra's backyard

I had a really small kit I was working from.  I think there were more stickers and embellishments than paper as I only have scraps from two of the three sheets.  Hopefully, I can pick up a few random sheets at my consultant's next paper buffet at the upcoming retreat or the leftovers might pair with another collection to get some more use from the remaining stickers.  I'm not a big fan of sticker sneezes and am very strategic in my placement so I should have enough for at least three or more layouts.

Sorry, the photo is upside down.  It's 10pm and I should be heading for bed.

TSR throwback and a bonus layout

I managed to get in 3 layouts today and sort through photos.  I feel like I'm finally making progress...too bad the bathrooms didn't get cleaned.  Guess there's always tomorrow.

I used AC shimelle "field trip" paper kit and some older puffy stickers for my throwback entry at TSR

I rotated the sketch and put the circle element off-center.  The sketch is just a starting point as part of the challenge is to also use some older stash items.  I'm not sure how long the paper has been in my stash but the puffy stickers are for sure older than a year.  I might have to go back and glue them down as they aren't very sticky anymore.

The second layout is based on a Creative memories Project recipe.  I didn't actually do the recipe as I had a bunch of scraps that fit the bill.  Still have three full sheets of patterned paper for I rather be crafting from Echo Park that I can still use.

I'll have to update my room photos as I am constantly changing the placement of items on the bookshelf as I use and purge along with buy.  I also added a mini-fridge for beverages.

Thanks for taking a peak

Urban Night-O

The last two years I've spent my birthday with my girlfriends Crystal and Tami in Portland for my Birthday weekend.  Crystal introduced me to Urban orienteering in 2019 and I'm addicted.  Wish we could have attended an event this year but the start/ finish line is in a pub closed due to Covid-19.  I choose to document my 2020 birthday Urban O using the sketch challenge at Scrap our Stash.  I actually have double the stash of Pebbles "Happy Cake day" as I inherited a TSR kit from my good friend Mary.

I rotated the sketched and changed the journal location, but aside from that it's all there

Pre made pages

I'm finally getting to some of my premade pages.  This first one I created a while back and I'm not really sure what the CM papers are only that the leaf border chain was newly out for this layout.
I did freshen the layout up a little by swapping out the goldenrod paper for the Harvest journal card which works well with the background paper and the subject matter.  I also added an orange sticker tab from 2018 croptober fest project recipe

This second 2-page spread was also a predesigned page from the CM sisters Holiday crop.
I used winter woodland designer paper and embellishments.  I specifically ordered this paper pack for the winter snow camp that my son's troop has attended.  You'll see it again soon as I have 2019 Klondike event to scrap.  The basic layout is the creation of Debbie Martin but I choose to use different embellishment clusters than she did.  her class was great and I created 3 of the 4 predesigned pages in an hour.  Basically, she tries to get  4  2-page layouts out of almost every designer paper pack CM puts out.

I'll probably put the camp name on the tag and use the winter essentials list as the journal spot

Still plugging away in the craft room trying to get at least 15 minutes of creating.
Tonight it's blogging the other evening it was sorting and purging photos.  Ordered 325 more to fill in the open spot in the sort box and that was with strategic printing

TSR jumpstart

Greetings,  I have another Boy Scout layout to share with you based on the January Jumpstart over at The scrap room

I rotated the sketch to work for my photos.

The bottom two photos actually were one photo but I wanted to eliminate the blank space between the leaders shoulders since I already had so much blank floor in the main photo.  No good way to crop it without losing the presents and that’s the whole point of the layout.  Title placement changed a little along with the journal area but the underlying bones are still there.

Done with my quick layout for the night.  I’m getting a bunch done thanks to the scrap challenge my consultant from CM sent out.

Light color for 15-30 minutes of sorting, journaling, cropping or creating anything related to scrapbooking. Dark colors is over 30 minutes.  So far I’ve been in my scrap space every day this year.  Almost skipped tonight but trying to create a habit so need to keep at it.

Camp Baker with CM virtual crop sketch

Got another layout done using the sketch from challenge #6
#CMVirtualCrop6January2021

This time I didn't use any Cm products just the sketch.  I'm working my way through the K & Company Boy Scout paper pad and embellishments.  I also used sequins from Speigelmom scraps " Into the Woods"

Going to call it a night as I have to go put the goats to bed and pack up the nativity as the cat thinks the manger is her new bed.

Till next time

Creative memories January 2021

I'm creating along with Creative memories January virtual crop challenge #1

#CMVirtualCrop1January2021

I used some really old CM papers.  I'm not sure the name of them as they were from back when CM did 8x8 paper packs.  I really like how it turned out and had fun fussy cutting the leaves for my embellishment cluster.

Only the alphas are not CM

2021 January sketch take 2

I think I have a new favorite sketch this year.

Fall Creek is based on Creative Scrapbooker magazine January 2021 sketch.  I used K and company Boy Scout paper with SpiegelMom scraps “Enchanted Forest” embellishments (paper word clouds, cork chevrons and wooden trees along with sequins “into the woods”.  I have had the love worn expressions (fabric pieces) so long that the web address no longer exists.  The giant  heart brad has also been in my stash forever.  Love how well it all goes together.

This next 2 page spread is one of the more simple ones that I have done in a while.

I left a lot of room for journaling as this camp out has a story that needs to be recorded.  The boys planned a multi night multi camp outing but it rained so hard that everyone and everything was soaked the first night so they stayed put in one campground and ventured out for a day hike when the storm lightened up.  Thus the long title.

Second page just photos.  No cropping

OTC Scout Awards

Got another layout done for my son’s scout album.  Oregon Trail Council end of year awards banquet.  Both my Husband and son received awards.  Went with the old standard layout and kept it super simple with just a few pops of red paper.  Quick and easy layout during my training call for Girl Scouts.

Paper is from k and company Boy Scout paper pad
Letters are from creative memories

Memorial Day 2018

No sketch, no challenge just creating.  Actually I’m establishing a new habit of spending at least 15 minutes a day scrapping.  So far 5 days in a row and another layout to show for it.  This one documenting Memorial Day service at Pioneer cemetery with troop 182.  I used photo play “Red, white and blue”

January 2021

I used the sketch from creative scrapbook magazine as my starting point but changed the orientation and add large 1/2 circles to tone down the business of the background paper and to have a spot for journaling.

I also changed up the photo size and number

Hope you are having a great New Year so far.  I’m on a creative roll as my CM consultant has challenged us to do something scrappy related each day.  Minimum of 15 minutes
