Lasting memories- Love Challenge

Sorry I'm late getting the current challenge posted for Lasting memories.
I was in Portland this weekend attending a girl scout training then hanging out with my good friends Crystal and Tami.  I'll share a couple of photos from our weekend at the end of the post

This weeks challenge is to use your stuff all in the name of LOVE
Use a product that starts with each letter of the word love.

My letters are:
L= layers, O= orange and oval tag, V= velum, E=embellishments (snaps)

I used the January single page at SID

I skipped the title in favor of the arrows since I had the velum journal box

After printing the list I filled in which scout did what

Saturday night after training we went urban orienteering.  I didn't take any pictures outside but here's the map.  Made it to 21-24, 19,27-28, 1-5, 30 and back to the start at the Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village.  Super hilly terrain.

Dinner after orienteering at Little Lamb Hot Pot in Beaverton
Red is spicy broth, white is original

derby 2017

My husband wanted me to just throw together a layout of my son working on his derby car to have at this weekends derby.  He wanted to highlight that boys should be helping or doing the work and that it wasn't supposed to be an adult craft.  Anyway, I rushed to get it done with some success

I created the camo effect my rubbing Cloudy sky ink pad onto the bright green paper
added a few splashes of color from the last of a kit and there you have it.

Thanks for taking a peak

Fidget to widget with make it Monday

I'm back with another girl scout layout.
I'm almost a full year behind  the current scout year as this layout is from February 2016,
 oh well still plugging away.
I used the following sketch from Make it Monday

I substituted patterned paper for PL style cards and quotes as I don't do Project Life
I really like the flexibility of using more photos then is called for on the sketch as I wanted to capture the whole story of the girls learning to code for their entertainment technology badge.

Tic Tac Toe at lasting memories

Welcome to our fourth stash bashing challenge at Lasting memories.
If you've missed the last three challenges you can find them here
1. Use those punches
 2.Buttons, brads and bling,
3.Ribbon, Washi tape, or Paper Strips

This week we are playing Tic Tac Toe.

I went across the bottom with Die cut title,
stars and doily

My two page spread is based on January's two page layout at Stick it down

I changed up the sizes a bit as the orientation of my photos didn't line up with the sketch, but I have the same number of photos per page and the smaller ones are cut to 3 inches high.

I love how the border came out, so glad I tried to follow the sketch

I chalk inked the doily with light blue and I misted it with blue as well to make it jump off the background white cardstock

Use your stuff 6X6 paper

This weeks challenge at Use your stuff is to use at least 3 sheets of 6x6 paper.

I used 4 plus 6x6 papers to create this layout of me on my first birthday.

I say plus because I cut and pieced two of the suns together and then used the extra tan peices to create journaling strips

here's a close up of my pieced together sun

I was also inspired by Challenge yourself #27
I thought  the word grow from the song lyrics "Wonderful life" by Louis Armstrong is the perfect description of my first year of life

thanks for stopping by to wish me a Happy Birthday (Jan 15th)

Ribbon, Washi tape, or Paper Strips at lasting memories

Welcome to the third challenge of the New Year at lasting Memories.  This weeks challenge is to use Ribbon, Washi tape, or Paper Strips "your choice".  I went with Washi tape as I am also playing along with the scrap room whip it up Wednesday challenge to create a banner.  They shared this link  for a banner tutorial.  I didn't watch it but winged it.  I like how it turned out. Now to just get better at photographing my two page spread.

For this layout I also used Sketches in Thyme #257

I went with two photos instead of one large one

My washi tape banner
For the second layout I used up all the scraps that I had left from my June TSR kit AC "starshine"

I also used some more of the washi banners under the camera chip board.

Thanks for stopping by on my birthday

Freaky fast forumal and thursday throwback with TSR

I'm so excited to have finished of my August prize pack from TSR and only have a few small bits left of my August Simple Stories "sunshine  & happiness" kit left after creating two more layouts using inspiration from the scrap room blog and facebook fan group.

Here's my take on Throw back Thursday
The challenge is to create a layout inspired by the throwback sketch....and use at least one item that has been in your stash for at least one year.

My stash items are the solid colored card stock and
I pulled out my circle punch that I haven't used in forever

and here's my freaky fast formula for January
No automatic alt text available.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.
I'll have more up soon as I plan on scrapping for my birthday

Buttons, Brads and Bling at Lasting Memories

This weeks stash bash challenge at Lasting Memories is  to use buttons, brads and bling.
I don't have a lot of buttons, but I do have a bit of a collection of brads and bling.
So this challenge was a good one for me to make a bit of a dent in my stash of bling.

I'm also doing a bit of paper stash bashing too as I used the last bit of my
May TSR kit Bella Blvd. Lets go

I used my light blue rhinestone bling to ring the title block of my layout.
Also popped in a few red buttons too

I cut the title with Creative memories divine cartridge on my cricut

The journaling reads
"Ashley for as much as you bluster about not liking your sister I know you love her"

Smiling

I was struck by the following sketch from Creative Scrapper sketch #302

I rotated the sketch to work with the photo orientation as well as  moved the title placement but other then that I stuck close to the sketch.

I used some more girl scout photos for this layout.  I'm trying to get caught up on the troop album

close up of the journaling.
The fox head is an epoxy that I removed from a hair pin that came with the TSR kit Simple stories "Hello Fall"  I added the pearls and rhinestones for a little extra dimension

the title is also alpha from my stash.

Punches with a Jumpstart

My head cold is finally subsiding and I managed to clear off the craft table for a brief scrapping session.
So here I go with a late reveal of using punches for Lasting memories combine with the newest sketch over at the Scrap Room.

At lasting memories we are asking you to break out your punches and use them on your layout. Any type of punch - border punches, shape punches, and if you don't have punches, use  die cut/ephemera.
I pulled out my old creative memories heart punches as I was inspired by the heart design on the flip side of the paper I was using from my April TSR kit Elle Studio "little Moments".

I used the TSR jump start sketch for January rotated

I also changed the location of the journaling and title but it still has the same feel as the sketch
