LM #773 - color palette inspiration

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use color mood boards for October.
Here’s the palette selection for this week.

The image on the mood board reminds me of me of herbs in an apothecary, so I used the image along with the color scheme to select my paper for my layout of Kam Wah Chung.

LM #772 - color palette inspiration

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use color mood boards for October.
Here’s the palette selection for this week.

I went with sandy yellow, lime green, and aqua for my layout and leaned into the tropical flair with fussy-cut flowers.

I was inspired by the pagemaps sketch from last month's Challenge Yourself

My photo orientation didn’t lend itself to two 3x5 photos, so I went with two smaller photos stacked to fill the space.

LM #771 - color palette inspiration

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use color mood boards for October.  Here’s the palette selection for this week.

The red is more tomatoey than berry but I think the midnight blue, petal and pearl are spot on.

I also was inspired by the scrap rooms jump start sketch for the month

I used a decorative tag instead of of a fourth photo and moved the title up a bit.

Day 3&4 using LM mood board

I created a companion page to my guest DT layout for  Lasting Memories using the mood board below

I used some of the same papers but have more of the curly fern pattern on this layout

LM #770 - color palette inspiration

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use color moodboards for October

Here is the current board

I went with the leafy green, light blue, and rusty orange
as well as touched on some of the plant motifs.

I was also inspired by the September 1st sketch from Sketches in Thyme

Here are a few close-ups of my embellishment clusters.

LM# 769 -plaid

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use up our stash of paper.
Include at least one patterned paper of the required design for the week on your layout.
This week, use plaid-patterned paper

I only used small hints of plaid along the edge of each side of my layout.
I have very little of the paper left, but it was the perfect amount to make this layout pop with a bit of color.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look. Remember, you still have time to create a layout for the challenge.

LM florals #768

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use up our stash of paper.
Include at least one patterned paper of the required design for the week on your layout.
This week, use floral-patterned paper

I struggle to use floral paper, especially when the pattern is a large print like the paper I used.
I fussy cut around each of the flowers and layered them along the side of my layout to mimic the flower wall at the entrance to Silverwood theme park

I almost forgot to take a photo of the paper before I started hacking on it.
I have a companion page using stripes that has the journaling for our day of adventure.  You can find it here

Thanks for stopping by to take a look, and remember, you still have time to make a layout for the challenge.

LM stripes #767

This month, Lasting Memories is challenging us to use up our stash of paper.
Include at least one patterned paper of the required design for the week on your layout.
This week, use striped patterned paper

This is the companion page to my floral page that can be found here.

For this page, I used a large flower to carry the theme across the layout while featuring the stripes with fewer photos.  The awesome thing about stripes is that it is a great place to do journaling.

I'm not sure I like the car sticker in the title, but I'm using up stash

Close up of the journaling after I fixed the date mix-up.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to use your stash with Lasting memories

Graduation part 2

Finally getting to some September challenges now that we are more than halfway through the month.
I’m using the following sketch from Rochelle

And the third column on Stacey’s tic tac toe

The background paper is polka dots, brads are under the banners, and red metallic twine.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peak.

Cone peak/Iron mountian

I'm getting caught up with challenges from Creative Memories VIP's by Mandee Shirley. This is for week six- use a peaka boo pocket.  I don't have any pockets so I used an old CM photo sleeve.

Here's a look at what's under the flap

I altered the sketch from CM to make it work for the number of photos I had

Dury Ridge

Over at CM VIP's by Mandee, we were challenged to use a paper-saving technique.  I had an oops moment when I cut the circle on the inside of the Jumbo cutter instead of the outside, but my happy accident created a ring, so I went with it

Here's the finished layout using Deep in the Woods paper and embellishments

VIP challenge

I was staying on top of the challenges over at Mandee Shirley's" Uncrafty crafter Creative Memories VIP group but then summer camp happened.  I'm trying to take advantage of a not-so-nice day outside to craft, and only managed to work on coloring badges and adding up points for the challenges

18 points over 5 Challenges

Here's how the point system works:
✅post your version
✅post within 24 hours
✅include pics
✅include journaling
✅use mostly CM products

I did:
Week #1 use circles 5pts
Week#2 with Switzerland 4pts
Week #4, which I haven't posted as I need photos from our upcoming anniversary trip 3pts
Week#5 with Tree Pick up 5pts
and Week #8 with Court of Honor 1pt )only posted my punched piece with some flowers as not a CM product layout)

It's not too late to join the group for some fun inspiration

Court of Honor

I’m part of a FB group that has a summer challenge going and two weeks ago it was to use the CM jumbo circle and punch the cut portion.  I didn’t use Creative Memories products so I couldn’t share in the group.

I went back and fussy cut the wedges in the chain and hid the other imperfections under all the hand cut florals.

Alternated using foam for some of the flowers to add some depth.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look

July sketch-n-scrap

I used the upper right throwback sketch for my layout of my son helping at the River Road/ Santa Clara library book sale.  I used the last of my CM season collection as the pink played up the sweet little girl's dress.

The ScraproomJune and July challenges

I've been trying to squeeze in scrapping time when I can get it this summer.  This past Sunday, I helped my son with a bottle drive for his Eagle project and had to sit at a drop-off location for three hours, so I brought along some supplies.

I used the July freaky fast formula for this Service project page
I lined up the 5x7 and the 3x6 to give the illusion of a larger sheet of paper and covered the bottom with the tag I punched from the 2.5x 4.5 piece

This next one is from the June  Jumpstart sketch

I cut the blue title from a photo mat and left the chunk with the black letters together as I worried they wouldn't stand out on the background paper.
