UYS-Spring/Easter

Oops!  I thought I got this posted last week when the Use Your Stuff Spring/Easter challenge went live but apparently not.  I'm still working my way through Boy Scout photos and have these two from the troop's spring camp out at Weyerhaeuser woods. The boys worked on their pioneering skills with the lashed shelter.

I used lots of bright spring colors and flowers from my Vickie Boutin TSR kit.  Still have some ephemera to use up but the pape is all but gone.  Time to mix it in with another VB kit.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for stopping by

Scrap a sketch Season bonus

Scrap a sketch has posted a sketch every Fri, Sat, and Sunday of April with a different Season as the theme. There are also two bonus sketches so far and I used Bonus sketch #2 for this layout of the troop serving pancakes and treats at the classic car show.  I used Fancy Pant's " A cherry on top" kit because it has a 1950's vibe that goes with some of the cars featured at the show.  I fussy cut a cut apart card for the embellishment cluster on the left.  popped it up on foam for some added dimension and threw in some enamel dots to finish it all off.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout

Beach

Super quick layout featuring the troop's trip to the North fork of the Siuslaw River.
Used some more CM sunshine getaway.  Almost have the paper stack used up.  I'm just about halfway done with the 2021 scout album.  Not sure what I'll work on next.

Scrap a sketch #6 summer

I'm glad that I'm finally able to play along with the 4 seasons April Challenge at Scrap a sketch.
I'm still working on my son's scout album and have documented three of his hundreds of photos for this layout.  I plan to create a pocket page book for his summer camp adventure, but wanted to have at least a page in his Road to Eagle  albums.

It still needs to get the boys to do the journaling, but other than that it's done

Crop update

I didn't  get as much done as I had hoped. I figured that I could crank out a layout an hour,  so target goal was 12 pages.  Well, by the time I got settled in and crafting it was closer to 10 am,  One less hour and I also didn't factor in lunch so I'm happy with the six  pages I did complete.  I'm only sharing a three of them here as I still need to finish the title work on the last two page spread.

These next two  pages slowed me down a bit:
This one I had to wait for my background to dry as I used Shimmerz spritz and Vibez.  Most of which got covered by the final photo arrangement.  Do you ever start with one idea and by the time you finish it's a completely different product?  Totally happened with this one.

This next one is based on the April four seasons sketch, however I didn't go with a summer theme as the photos are of my son's attempt to design a game for the merit badge he was working on.  He still needs to revisit the requirements to finish it up.

I spent a bit of time hand stitching the border on this one but love the added texture

This last one was a quick and easy layout to put together.  I love that the title lent itself to pulling pink elements into the layout.  Who said that there are gender rules to scrapping boys?  I was also able to pull a few embellishments from my stash which I'm trying to do more of.  If the color works why not.

Thanks for stopping to take a peak
I'll be back soon with more from the crop.

NSD

I got to celebrate National Scrapbook Day a month early this year with an all-day crop on April 9th.
My Creative Memories consultant hosted a fabulous event and I'm excited to share my project from this year as well as this one that I made with the CM NSD kit from 2021.  I used mostly the B side of the patterned papers as they were tone-on-tone and not overly shamrockish.  The photos are of my son and his scoutmaster at the Portland Crispy Creme on their way home from a campout at Fort Stevens.  The colors were perfect and the phrases worked for this layout too.

Sketch support

I'm using Allison Davis sketch #24.  You can find the free sketch here

I went with two 4x6 photos of the boys cooking at camp.  I thought I was going to do the curvy element in flames but it didn't work out the way I wanted so I just stuck with the embellishment clusters.

I mixed and matched collections that  had a camping or outdoor theme.  Some of the die cuts are popped up on foam to a dimension and separation as is the case in the lower cluster of s'mores.

I've had the marshmallow sticks  in my stash forever.  Glad to finally get them on a page

Thanks for stopping by  I'll be back on Sunday for a NSD share

#445 Tags at Use Your Stuff

We have a new challenge at Use Your stuff for the first two weeks of April…TAGS!  Pull out your punches, dies, kits and collections.  You can use pre-made tags or make your own like I did.

I'm starting the next Scout album for my son.  Up to 2021 now so getting closer to being caught up.  I'll probably switch over to working on the family album this summer as I have per paired  scout photos and paper in preparation for a NSD crop next weekend

My CM tag punch got a workout with this layout
To make it easier to line up the tags I cut 9 inch strips and then punched both ends of the strip.

Then I cut apart a die cut frame to get the pine boughs that I tucked under the bottoms of the photos.  For above the photos I cut a die cut border in half to have enough for both sides. Stuck on a few stickers from the collection and a few rhinestones to finish it all off.

Enjoy the close up below

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek and I hope to see your creation over at Use Your Stuff
