I finally am back into a creative groove. I did try to keep the juices flowing on vacation by reading my blog feed daily and marking layouts and challenges I wanted to try when I got back into my craft space. Now that I've got two weeks of summer school under control and summer track is over, I'm hoping to craft nightly. Here's what I managed to knock out the past two days. I created this one using the
July Scrap our stash sketch challenge.
I tried a couple different configurations with the banners and just didn't like having the tails facing each other. I think it's because of my background patterned paper. I noticed that most of the DT at S.O.S used solid paper. Could also be that my cuts are not symmetrical. Anyway, I changed it up just a bit to work. I choose to stagger the smaller green banners to play up the stars. I fussy cut the stars from a scrap of patterned paper but only had two. Hide the fact that the third didn't match by mounting a merit badge in the center of it.
I also got a quick single-page layout with an 8 x10 photo of my son and husband with a few of their troop mates at World Jamboree. I have a whole album covering World but wanted a page in my son's road to Eagle Album so that all of the events and activities he does as a scout are in chronological order.
and this one I whipped out last night. I was inspired by Creative memories virtual crop sketch #2
I used CM winter woods
and rotated both sides of the sketch to accommodate the orientation of the photos.
I didn't use the banners or other embellishments so that I could get the photo mat/ title card and journal box on the layout. Journaling is to be done by my husband and son sometime soon.
